Story Behind the Curve
The Duplin County Coalition for Health (DCCFH) resumed it's program for Duplin County in July of 2023. The purpose of this program is to bring community stakeholders together to help provide resources for the community's identified needs. Meetings are held regularly to discuss projects and formulate plans to help bring resources and new opportunities to the table.
The DCCFH has formed subcommittees to address specific needs identified such as access to care, chronic disease prevention and mental health/substance abuse. The chronic disease subcommittee is currently working on identifying access to exercise areas/programs within the county to make the community aware of these. The goal of this subcommittee group is to identify new partners within the county and to make residents aware so that they may have an active role in preventing heart disease, diabetes, strokes, etc.
