Data Definition and Methodology: This measure shows the percentage of individuals who received a behavioral health outpatient service in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS) via telehealth.
Data for this measure was obtained from Maryland Department of Health Administrative Services Only (ASO) claims data for claims paid through 2/29/2024. Data for FY 2023 are not final as a provider has 12 months from the time of service in which to submit a claim for payment.
Public Health Significance: Telehealth is the use of electronic and telecommunication devices to deliver health education and care. It can potentially increase healthcare access, reduce costs, and improve health outcomes.
