Data Discussion
Keep in mind that some sample sizes may be small when reviewing percentages.
Footnotes from Data Source: Race is provided only for those students who are not Hispanic and students who identify as Hispanic are shown as Hispanic only. Race may not be available for every student, therefore, the sum of students across all race or ethnicities may not add up to the overall count. Census tracts are determined based on students’ September residency in the associated academic year. Some students did not have a census tract reported in the original data and these students are assigned the census tract that corresponds to the school of attendance. This measure includes all students who completed the Algebra I MCAP in the applicable school year and includes students who span multiple grades (typically grades 7-10). A student was considered proficient with a score of 3 or 4. MSDE data suppression rules applied to groups less than 10 to protect privacy.
