Story Behind the Curve

United Way of Story County supports many summer enrichment programs. Only a few explicitly report on how many children were eligible for free-and-reduced price lunch (i.e. from a family with limited-income).

To better understand how many underserved kids are gaining access to summer enrichment, United Way introduced a new, more comprehensive performance measure in summer 2020. Please see: EPM 2.1c: # of youth K-8 from underserved populations who participated in summer enrichment programs, quality and engaging out-of-school opportunities that reinforce and enhance academic and social/emotional learning (resultsscorecard.com)
