Libraries in Moore County have distributed books across the county through the Read and Feed Program. In addition, Southern Pines Public Library has distributed books at the Recreation Department's Pool Park programs,  Outdoors Movie, the Southern Pines Pool Park Bash, Outreach at DT Park,as well as during tutoring programs.

The three area libraries conceived of a pilot outreach program, Read and Feed, to bring healthy lunches and summer reading programs to children in low-income neighborhoods located in Robbins, Jackson Hamlet, and Southern Pines. Each library used a slightly different approach, but all included reading, experiential learning, crafts, and book giveaways.
