Story Behind the Curve
The capacity of child care programs in the state, and especially programs with specialized child care status has been gradually increasing in the state. This is due to the increased support from the Children's Integrated Services (CIS) Child Care Coordinators to child care programs interested in becoming specialized.
Partners
The Child Development Division works with several partners to support child care programs to become and maintain specialized child care status. Partners include:
- The Children's Integrated Services teams in each AHS district. These teams have a CIS Child Care Coordinator that answers child care program questions, supports trainings, and provides mentoring to programs becoming or maintaining specialized child care status.
- Northern Lights @ CCV is the state's early childhood professional development organization. They ensure trainings required to become or maintain specialized child care status are available across the state.
- Starting Points Networks at Vermont Birth to Five. Starting Points is a network of child care providers that provide peer support and trainings.
