The Macomb County Health Department has partnered with the Macomb Community Action Office of Senior Services and Baker College dental hygiene students who are visiting congregate meal sites and providing oral health education to seniors, as well as toothbrush kits and information on where seniors can get low cost dental care in Macomb County.  In addition, the Health Department has partnered with the Office of Senior Services’ Meals on Wheels Program to provide information regarding where senior citizens can obtain low-cost dental care in the community.  Because senior participation in this program varies, the information will be re-distributed on an annual basis. 

            Congregate Meal Site, date of visit and number of senior contacts:

• Roseville Community Center, July 24, 2019 –  30 seniors in attendance and 30 flyers distributed
• Richmond Community Center, July 29, 2019 – 12 seniors in attendance and 15 flyers distributed (employees of the site wanted the information for family members)
• Peace Manor, August 14, 2019 – 6 seniors in attendance and 6 flyers distributed
• Tucker Senior Center, December 11^th, 2019 - 15 to 20 seniors in attendance and received flyers
• Clinton Place Apartments, December 17, 2019
• Sterling Heights Senior Center, December 18, 2019 – 10 Seniors in attendance and 10 flyers distributed

Number of flyers and date of distribution:

• August 23, 2019 -  Delivered 1,500 Senior Oral Health Flyers to Macomb Community Action for distribution to Meals on Wheels households with their monthly mailings
