Why Is This Important?

The goal of the intergenerational poverty initiative is to measurably reduce the number of Utah families in the cycle of poverty. To meet this overall goal and the goal to ensure families are self-reliant, the number of families experiencing intergenerational poverty must be measured and tracked over time.

Explanation for the Indicator

This indicator is calculated as a percentage of households that are receiving public assistance who are also experiencing intergenerational poverty.
