What Works



Strategy

1.Institute a Public Awareness Campaign about available services and the Mobile Unit for Disconnected Youth:
2.Share information and advocacy for what already exists
3.Develop a Mobile Unit (Mobile Career Center) for Charles County to go to different places in the community to help young people apply for jobs.
4.Get volunteers from the business community and retired persons to coach, model and mentor youth.  5.Incentivize for-profits to come to the table to help 16-24 year old youth 6.Expand VanGo services to include expanded hours; provide vouchers for youth; reach out to employer to subsidize the bus service; provide weekly passes
7. Provide therapeutic services for underlying trauma for these youth.  Train peers to provide support also.
