Why Is This Important?
Overdose happens when a toxic amount of a drug, or combination of drugs, overwhelms the body. People can overdose on various substances- not just opioids. Substances that can cause an overdose include alcohol, Tylenol (acetaminophen), mixtures of drugs, and various other substances in addition to those mentioned above. Additionally, taking more than one kind of drug at a time or drinking alcohol while doing drugs increases the risk of overdose.
