Unmet oral health needs can lead to more significant health issues. Research has shown associations between chronic oral infections and heart and lunch diseases, stroke, diabetes and low-birthweight and premature births. According to the Utah Department of Health, employed adults in the United States lose more than 164 million hours of work each year as a result of oral health problems or dental visits.
