Why Is This Important?
Child care subsidies are available to low-income working families for the purposes of supporting employment. Parents identify the issue of limited access to child care as a barrier to employment. Child care subsidies help reduce that barrier by allowing parents to participate in the workforce, while also providing a healthy and safe environment for their young children.
Explanation for the Indicator
This indicator is calculated as a percentage of all children experiencing intergenerational poverty, between the ages of 0-5 years old, who are covered by child care subsidies.
