Story Behind the Curve
This indicator measures the amount of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide emissions from solid waste decomposition, waste water processing, electricity use, agricultural practices, space heating, and transportation.
Why Is This Important?
Although the Northwest Region may be a small part of global greenhouse gas emissions, it is important that the region do its part to help reduce emissions: Specifically, do what we can to help the State reach the goal of reducing 50% of greenhouse gas emissions from the 1990 baseline by 2028.
