This indicator was introduced in 2019 with a question in the Jersey Opinions and Lifestyle Survey which surveys a representative sample of adults in Jersey. Respondents were asked to score how much they trusted a range of institutions, including the States Assembly, on a scale of 1-10: 1 being do not trust at all; 10 being trust completely.
In 2019, Jersey charities and the States of Jersey Police were scored as the most trustworthy institutions in the survey, with mean scores of 7.0, while the States Assembly was the least trusted institution with a mean score of 4.4.
