Jersey's States Assembly has 49 politicians who are elected on a four-year cycle. Campaigns are undertaken ahead of elections to encourage candidates to stand.
In 2018, 14 of the 49 States Members were elected unopposed, including 11 out of 12 Connétables. Half of these were existing States Members who were re-elected unopposed (including five of the Connétables).
