What is this about?
Published for the first time in 2013, ‘Jersey’s Better Life Index’ aims to provide a measure of the Island’s “well-being”. The index looks at this both from an overall perspective and also at a more detailed level. Jersey’s overall Better Life Index of 6.4 (out of 10) in 2021 ranks Jersey 24th out of 41 nations. This score places Jersey slightly below the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) average (6.5) and below the United Kingdom (6.9) and France (6.9).
