This indicator tracks the proportion of Jersey's population with self-reported long-term health conditions. It uses data from the Jersey Opinions and Lifestyle Survey, which surveys a representative sample of adults in Jersey.​ Participants are asked 'Do you have any physical or mental health conditions or illnesses lasting or expected to last for 12 months or more?'

In 2022, 29% of adults in Jersey reported having a longstanding physical or mental health condition expected to last for 12 months or more. While this proportion has remained largely unchanged for more than a decade, Jersey's population has increased during that time so a greater number of people are living with long-term conditions.
