What is this about?
This indicator tracks the proportion of Jersey's population with self-reported long-term health conditions. It uses data from the Jersey Opinions and Lifestyle Survey, which surveys a representative sample of adults in Jersey. Participants are asked 'Do you have any physical or mental health conditions or illnesses lasting or expected to last for 12 months or more?'
In 2022, 29% of adults in Jersey reported having a longstanding physical or mental health condition expected to last for 12 months or more. While this proportion has remained largely unchanged for more than a decade, Jersey's population has increased during that time so a greater number of people are living with long-term conditions.
