Story Behind the Curve
FY22-
In the 2nd half of the year, coming out of Covid-19 mentors began meeting in person more often with their mentees. More in-person workshops were held.
Partners
Throughout the year the program consistently partnered with: Caroline County Health Department, Chesapeake College,. Mid-Shore Behavioral Health, Wraparound MD, Federalsburg Lions Club, Town of Denton, Shore United Health, Knights of Columbus, Caroline County Public Schools, Caroline County Council of Arts and Chesapeake Culinary Center.
What Works
Mentors were able to increase the number of hours spent with mentees and attend in person workshops. During the Covid-19 pandemic mentors were able to maintain continuing contact through virtual methods of text, FaceTime and some continued to meet face to face for outdoor activities.
Data Discussion
There was a slow start to mentoring hours due to Covid but increased in the second half of FY21
FY22-
A cooking class/workshop was held at the Chesapeake Culinary Center and a Mentor Professional Development Day. Mentoring hours increased because mentors were able to meet in person more often with mentees.
