Story Behind the Curve
FY 2021 Raw Data: 0 rollbacks (0.00%)
Positive Factors
- eRA staff is knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring the systems are available for users.
- eRA coordinates well with CIT (Center for Information Technology), who owns the network infrastructure.
- eRA does extensive testing of all systems (hardware and software) to reduce the likelihood of a deployment rollback.
- eRA deployment request (DR) process and schedule reduces likelihood of a deployment rollback.
Negative Factors:
- Delays in onboarding contractor and Federal staff result in:
- Coverage gaps -- the gap between the time staff leave and their position is backfilled.
- Overburdened staff -- existing staff tasked with handling tasks assigned to staff who've left eRA.
- Delays in projects -- not enough staff to handle the planned work.
- Aging infrastructure increases the likelihood a deployment will fail.
- Increased workload from the multiple audits eRA is part of that require SME to devote time to respond to Audit request
- Rollbacks can damage the eRA "Brand" that staff have worked hard to repair over the past several years.
