Measure Definition
All DHHS employees are asked to complete the Guarding Minds at work stress satisfaction scan quarterly. The basic score called the stress satisfaction - offset score (SSOS), is known to be strongly associated with a wide variety of mental and physical health outcomes. It shows the balance or “offset” between satisfaction and stress as a single number ranging from +2 [much more satisfaction than stress] to –2 [much more stress than satisfaction].
Story Behind the Curve
The quarterly Guarding Minds measure (stress versus satisfaction scan) shows the division at an “elevated risk of psychological injury” for the past 4 quarters. However, this number has been slightly decreasing over the last 4 quarters. The quarterly Guarding Minds proxy measure, (positive versus negative mental health culture) shows the division at an “average risk of psychological injury” for the past 4 quarters. The number has also been improving slightly over the last 4 quarters. CQi has had a response rate of 95%.
