Target: 10% increase in investigations completed.

An average of 147 investigations and annual monitoring visits have occurred during the past two years. Investigations completed have been ~25% lower for the last two quarters (Q4 2024 and Q1 2025). The CEH Branch is working with LHDs to try to increase visits in homes where BLLs are >=5ug/dL.  

 

NOTE: 

For the most recent quarter of data: Numbers will not accurately reflect all the blood lead tests that were performed because it can take up to 3-4 weeks for test results to appear in our surveillance system. (Blood lead specimens can be analyzed up to 2 weeks after specimen collection, and laboratories have 5 days to report their results electronically after that. Point of care test results may require a month or more to post to the system). Numbers for previous quarters may be periodically updated when it is estimated most of the data for that quarter has been received.

 

We have updated questions asking about spices and other food items during investigations.  We are also continuing to work with community groups, doctors, etc. to increase interest in environmental investigations.
