Description
Healthy Beginnings is a program that provides a support system for minority women in the community during pregnancy and up to two years after delivery. Families receive one-on-one care management through home visits and participate in group educational sessions on health topics. The main goal of Healthy Beginnings is to make pregnancy, childbirth, and the early toddler years an enjoyable and healthy experience.
Families are educated on the following health topics:
- Folic Acid Consumption
- Reproductive Health
- Breastfeeding
- Nutrition and Exercise
- Baby Safety
- Child Development
