Vermont Medicaid's Experience of Care Scorecard

This scorecard represents results from the Department of Vermont Health Access' annual Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Medicaid Adult and Children surveys. Vermont Medicaid uses a nationally recognized experience of care survey tool, administered by a nationally certified vendor to a sample of both our adult and child beneficiaries. Most of the performance measures (PMs) listed below are composite measures.

Who We Serve

A random sample of the Vermont Medicaid population is drawn each year for the CAHPS surveys. Respondents are asked to select their race from the standard survey categories. The adult and child results can be seen in the table below:

Why Is This Important?

The voice of the customer is a critical element in the administration of the State Medicaid plans. Hearing from our customers provides us with useful information about what we're doing well and what we could be doing better. The Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey provides an assessment of health plan performance from a customer perspective.
