Social Determinants of Health

The phrase "health starts at home" is only partially true. Health starts in our homes, schools, communities, workplaces and environment. The conditions in which we live, work, play, learn and age explains why some residents in our communities have higher risks of health conditions than others.

Creating social and physical environments that promote good health for all is health equity. All people deserve an equal opportunity to attain their highest level of health.
