Essex County Scorecard

This Scorecard is organized with Goals which were identified through an assessment of data related to substance use for youth and adults in the Northeast region of Vermont. Under each goal are related Indicators, or measures that can be tracked over time to assess progress. 

The columns on the right side of the page allow for quick viewing of the value at the most recent time period as well as the percentage change from baseline to the year shown. The red and green arrows indicate whether the change is in the desired direction (if green) or in the undesirable direction (if red). For some indicators a higher value is desirable and in other cases lower might be better. An indicator has a black arrow if there is only one data point so far. For some indicators there is not a clear desirable direction of change from baseline so no arrow will be present. 

You can use the sliding bar located on the upper right portion of the page to change how detailed a view you can see.  

Each Indicator can be expanded by either clicking on the description of the indicator or by clicking the plus symbols on the far left of each one. When expanded, you will see a graph with data across several years (the number of years varies depending on the Indicator), and different color lines representing different comparison populations.  

Below each Indicator graph is a Story Behind the Curve providing additional details on the data for that measure. 

You may either print or download each graph by clicking on the three horizonal lines in the upper right of the graph to share with community members and include in presentations and reports.
