Local Children’s Board (LCB), the County’s LMB, serves to coordinate child and family services, bringing together child-serving agencies, local service providers, clients, families, schools and other community representatives to empower local stakeholders in addressing the needs of and setting priorities for their communities. Members of the LCB include the Howard County Public School System, Department of Social Services, Health Department, Mental Health Authority, State’s Attorney’s Office, and Recreation and Parks as well as community members and child advocates. The LCB’s Community Partnership Agreement with the Governor’s Office of Children allows the LCB to identify community based programs that emphasize prevention and early intervention and make funding decisions that support the areas of Child Safety and School Success.
