The Chapel Hill Campus & Community Coalition to Reduce the Negative Impacts of High-Risk Drinking Behaviors (CCC) strives to provide and use the most up-to-date data available to drive its goals and objectives. Updates to this Scorecard are made on an annual basis. The mission of CCC is to promote a thriving and healthy environment for all community members. This scorecard communicates across the CCC and its partners how the CCC is progressing towards its strategies and goals. This data can be used to prioritize CCC actions and better serve the community. For further information on trends at both the state and national levels, please refer to: NC Alcohol and Related Harms Data Page and CDC Alcohol Website. If you have any questions or comments on this data, please reach out to samantha@downtownchapelhill.com.
The Scorecard explores high-risk drinking and substance use behaviors and their negative impacts on:
-
UNC-CH Students
-
The Chapel Hill Community
-
High School and Middle School Students of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools District
This scorecard aims to better understand community trends over time and the progress of the Coalition’s strategies. Each indicator or performance measure highlights:
-
The most recent year in which data was collected/analyzed
-
Data point values
-
How many years has that value been on/off-trend
-
The % change from the baseline of that measure
-
Additionally, some measures include a Story Behind the Curve that explains and expands upon indicators/measures and the external forces or variables that may impact the data points when additional context is necessary.
When interacting with this Scorecard, note that the solid blue line indicates local data. For indicators/measures with a target value (or goal), those are represented with a dashed red line. These target values were determined through the consultation of national, state, and local data trends. These goals strive to be challenging, yet achievable.
The Coalition enlists the support and partnership of numerous representatives from the university, town, and county. In addition, students, the local school district, retailers, and other public health organizations partner on Coalition activities.
