The Early Learning, Childcare, and Education Committee (ELCEC) is dedicated to supporting children ages 0-6 to reach their full potential.
One of the current priorities of the ELCEC is to make sure that infants and young children at risk get the best support possible. To achieve this, the ELCEC partners from health, education and the early years are working together on three main strategies:
- Helping children move smoothly from home or childcare into school (Effective School Transitions),
- Making it easier for families to find and get the services they need (System Navigation), and
- Finding children who may need extra help early on (Early Identification of High Needs).
All of this work helps make sure young children and their families get the support they need to grow and succeed.
