Identified Health Issue: Cognitive Disorders
Cognitive disorders, such as dementia, are a broad range of conditions that can affect a person's mental processes. Dementia is not a specific disease but is a general term for impairments in the ability to remember, think, or make decisions. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia and involves the parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language. Overall risk can be reduced by getting and staying active, maintaining a healthy weight, managing blood sugar and blood pressure, and avoiding binge drinking and smoking.
