Methodology
The data captured in this Scorecard are children that have actively received child care financial assistance. Each data point is captured on a family's CCFAP application and the child's certificate. A certificate indicates a child is actively receiving financial assistance. A child can have multiple certificates in a given month. The data represents the number of unduplicated children, and the data comes from their most up-to-date certificate for that month.
CCFAP Child Age: The total number of children each month who fall under the given age category.
The age category is broken down as follows:
- Infant - birth to < 24 months
- Toddler - 24 months to 36 months
- Preschool - 36 months to 72 months
- School Age - 72 months to 13 years or up to 19 years if the child is designated as special needs
CCFAP Child Ethnicity: The total number of children each month who identify with the specified ethnicity.
Certain service needs do not report this data and is generally not required information. Therefore, there will be some unreported responses.
CCFAP Child Gender: The total number of children each month who identify with the specified gender.
CCFAP Child Race: The total number of children each month who identify with the specified race.
Certain service needs do not report this data and is generally not required information. Therefore, there will be some unreported responses.
Multiple race identities were able to be selected for a child which created a new category of results. The new category would list each option they chose. This caused a high variety in responses. In order to better represent these children, a measure of "Two or More Races" was created which consists of those children who chose multiple race identities.
