Opioid overdose prevention kits are designed to help save lives in case of an emergency. Each kit includes 2 fentanyl test strips to check if drugs contain fentanyl, 2 doses of Narcan (naloxone) to reverse the effects of an overdose, 2 information sheets with instructions and safety tips, and a CPR face shield to help give rescue breaths safely. These kits are easy to use and give people the tools they need to respond quickly and safely during a suspected opioid overdose.
Several Alamance County Health Department employees gather semi-monthly to assemble these kits.
