Chronic diseases are linked to the most common, costly, and preventable health problems in North Carolina. We know that there are benefits to an active, healthy lifestyle. A non-sedentary lifestyle promotes physical activity, which decreases the chances of developing some chronic diseases. The CDC states "exercise and proper nutrition improve overall health and fitness reducing the risk for chronic diseases.
